CROWD AT SHILPGRAM (TAJ MAHOTSAV) MAKES ARTISANS JOYFUL

REPORTED BY (RAJKUMAR) AGRA 23 February, after six days of start of TAJ MAHOTSAV there was a good crowd seen at SHILPGRAM . Artisans were seen happy today with the number of visitors at the fair. The reason for good number of visitors may be ending of the week. People used to go for outing/shopping on weekends out after five days of workload and the fair is a good place for the people to visit and spending their good span of time. The visitors were seen enjoying the handicraft & handlooms stalls over there and watching the cultural activities going on at SHILPGRAM today. This has increased the sale of the artisans and this is the only reasons the stall owners were in a good mood today. Taj Mahotsav about 400 legendary artisans from different parts of the country get an opportunity to display their exquisite works of art. To name a few among them are the wood/stone carvings from Tamil Nadu, Bamboo/cane work from North East India, Paper mash work from South India and Kashmir, the marble and zardozi work from Agra, wood carving from Saharanpur, brass wares from Moradabad, hand made carpets from Bhadohi, Pottery from Khurja, Chikan work from Lucknow, silk & zari work from Banaras, shawls & carpets from Kashmir/Gujarat and hand printing from Farrukhabad and Kantha stitch from west Bengal etc.Today there was a good crowd at TAJ MAHOTSAV at SHILPGRAM. The Tuesday morning after opening the stalls there was somewhat less crowd at the fair, but as the day passes, at the time of evening there was a good crowd of visitors seen at the artisans stalls and the food stalls. All the artisans were looking happy and were in full spirit of presenting their product. We must thank to SHILPGRAM staff that they have made arrangements in such a way that all the programmes were conducted peacefully which makes the artisans happy and the visitors were also seen enjoying theirselves. Funfair is the biggest attraction for children in the festival. It is a complete family entertainment which offers thrill and amusement for every one. Teenagers and adults enjoy various rides and roller coaster while children are happy with small ride such as merry-go-round, Train-rides and Ferris wheel. So have fun at Taj Mahotsav with your whole family.
